Systems Operation Specialist

Position Summary:
Under general or limited supervision, this position will perform activity level work assignments in the related areas of internal systems and networking with routine level of responsibility, experience, and expertise.
Requirements:Duties and Responsibilities:
Install, manage, and maintain enterprise physical and virtual servers, operating systems, applications
Install, manage, and maintain system security protocols
Analyze and perform troubleshooting and/or upgrades
Develop and test systems, network performance, and system requirements
Create, maintain, and enhance documentation
Coordinate with vendors or other personnel to schedule and perform preventative and/or corrective maintenance
Coordinate and manage current data, files, and system backups
Evaluate new products and provide purchase recommendations
Manage backup protocols
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Basic knowledge of a SIS or ERP system (prefer advanced knowledge of Banner)
Basic theory and operation of computers, operating systems (primarily Linux), and computer software and relational databases (prefer advanced knowledge of Oracle RDBMS, PL/SQL, and WebLogic)
Writing and Word Processing Experience: For creation of system and user documentation, written communications and internal reporting.
Investigative Skills: must be able to conduct analysis using interrogative and structured conversation with other personnel and vendors.
Verbal Communications: Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
Data communications and data transfer
Project management and organizational skills and the ability to work as a team player
Scripting skills
Communicate and present information clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
Work in a complex, changing environment with multiple deadlines and be a self-starter
Troubleshoot and problem-solve
Create technical and end-user documentation
Working Conditions:Physical Demand and Working Conditions:
Work is generally performed during normal business hours but may require evening and weekend hours to meet set deadlines or resolve issues.
Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
