Dean, College of Business

Position Summary:
The dean reports to the vice president for Academic Affairs and works with other deans and members of the Academic Affairs staff. The College of Business is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs (ACBSP) and has over 700 students who are served by 19 full-time faculty members. The College of Business offers undergraduate majors as well as a Masters program in Business Administration. Eastern is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association. Requirements:Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for strengthening degree programs, recruitment and development of faculty, budget management, recruitment and retention of students, promoting teaching excellence and innovation, program assessment, being a liaison with the regional business community, and working collaboratively with others in creating and implementing a long-range strategic vision for the college and university.
Minimum Job Requirements:
An earned doctorate in a business discipline from an accredited institution. Recognized scholarly/professional accomplishments and teaching record appropriate for the rank of associate professor or professor in one of the disciplines within the college.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated excellence in leadership; experience in selecting, evaluating, promoting and retaining faculty/staff; ability and willingness to obtain significant external funding; demonstrated understanding of the need for active recruitment and student retention, and maintaining our national business accreditation.
Previous administrative and/or management experience within a College of Business is desirable.
Working Conditions:Physical Demand and Working Conditions:
Work is performed during normal work hours but may require some evening or weekend hour
Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
